Bridge of Allan
Step back in time to the elegance of a Victorian spa town only three miles from the city centre. Visitors flocked here to take the waters for their health. After the recommended four pints of well water, the rest of the day was theirs to stroll, shop or take an excursion to the Trossachs.
You can follow their example. There are floral parks and strolls along the river. Henderson Street with its antique, craft and designer boutiques is the place to window shop. Beer rather than spa water is now the town’s tipple: you can sample a pint at the Bridge of Allan Brewery.
